The Nigeria cum Africa fashion industry is up for a big change, if what has happened to this wonderful group within 365 days of inception is anything to go by.

One year after, the group formerly known as “Fashion Illustration Naija” is now “The Fashion Collective Naija.

TFC9JA is a Telegram group for creatives, set up on the 27th of May 2020 for the primary purpose of sharing the works of fashion illustrators.

It was known as Fashion Illustration Naija at the time.

The group which was established with the following aims and objectives has continually engaged with members by creating content that teaches, enlightens and sensitizes on developments and events within the industry globally:

• To educate fashion creatives about their various industries..both local and international.

• To network and collaborate with other fashion creatives.

• To connect members with people and opportunities to help them develop and progress in their various careers and businesses.

Various industry egg-heads have graced the platform to interact, educate and enlighten members, within the one year of the group.

Among the esteemed guests is current Fashion Designers Association of Nigeria (FADAN) president, Kola Kuddus; Ethical Fashion founder, Simoni Cipriani; and Vogue Italia deputy editor in Chief and head, Vogue talents, Sara Maino.

Speaking to Afrika Fashion League, the spokesperson and founder of TFC9JA, Omonigho Imonah said, “we hope to be registered as an NGO sọọn, to enable us access funding opportunities that will assist our members in their fashion endeavors.

We also aim to be the fastest growing group for fashionpreneurs in Africa”.
