Job Title: Product Development Assistant
Reports to: Head of Product Development

Profile
Galvan is a modern luxury brand celebrated for its refined design, exceptional craftsmanship, and commitment to quality. We are seeking a Junior/Mid-level Product Development Assistant with 3 - 4 years experience in fashion product development, ideally across both woven and knitted categories. 

The successful candidate will be highly organised, proactive, and detail-driven, with strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about product, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is comfortable liaising with suppliers and cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities
Collection & Development Management

  • Manage and update collection trackers for both development and production stages.
  • Create and maintain the Collection Overview to ensure accurate and up-to-date product information.
  • Set up launch packs for proto samples, sales samples, and PPS (Pre-Production Samples).
  • Create and update collections on Zedonk to ensure all product details are correctly recorded.
  • Assist in managing the development calendar and critical path across woven and knitwear categories.


Product Development Support

  • Support the creation and updating of tech packs, BOMs, and specification sheets.
  • Liaise with suppliers to request quotes, lead times, and development samples.
  • Monitor and track sample progress, ensuring deadlines are met.


Sample & Fitting Management

  • Coordinate receipt, logging, and organisation of development, SMS, and fit samples.
  • Support model bookings for fittings and attend fitting sessions, preparing garments, taking detailed notes, and updating fit comments.
  • Arrange sample shipments to and from suppliers and factories.


Supplier & Logistics Coordination

  • Maintain clear and professional communication with factories and mills in the UK, Europe, and overseas.
  • Create and track shipments to and from suppliers and factories, ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Archive and follow invoices and orders from suppliers, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
  • Follow up with suppliers on sample status, costings, and any required changes.


Cross-Department Collaboration

  • Work closely with design, production, and technical teams to ensure a smooth PD to production handover.
  • Support merchandising and e-commerce teams with product information when needed.



Skills & Experience
Essential

  • 3 - 4 years experience in product development or production, ideally in both woven and knitted categories.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) and familiarity with PLM systems, preferably Zedonk.
  • Excellent communication skills, with experience liaising with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.


Desirable

  • Experience in luxury or premium fashion
  • Previous experience working with European and international suppliers
