OLABISI ADETILOYE EMERGES AS WINNER OF 2021 AFRIKA FASHION LEAGUE ‘90 MINUTES CHALLENGE’

Ms. Olabisi Adetiloye emerged with the highest score to become the season 3 winner of AFL90MinutesChallenge.

A winner has emerged in the 2021 Afrika Fashion League, fashion design contest popularly dubbed as the ‘90 Minutes Challenge’. The contest which held recently in Lagos, the commercial capital of Nigeria.

 

The contest had 11 highly creative contestants arrive the OSC Career Institute in Lagos, Nigeria in the early hours of Saturday 20th November 2021. The finalists were briefed by Adebayo Ilupeju, Founder Afrika Fashion League, to charge them for the task ahead.

 

Another round of briefing was offered by the panel of jury led by Kola Kuddus, the President of Fashion Designers Association of Nigeria (FADAN). Mrs. Olusola Babatunde, Creative Director OSC Career Institute ably represented by Mrs. Angela Eyekosi and Mrs. Tabernacle Emmanuel, Creative Director Tabbykraft Stitches.

The eleven (11) finalists were promptly set to work with the various shades of African wax print fabrics that were made available in bits and pieces to produce bespoke fashion outfits in 90 minutes; to conceptualize, cut and sew a fashion outfit in line with the agreed fashion theme (Urban Metro) for this year.

At the end of 90 minutes, all the contestants were able to make a good impression of themselves, leaving the judges to the herculean task of determining the winner. The judges were made to work with the AFL performance index which scores the contestants’ performance in a scientific way.

At the end of the collation of results Ms. Olabisi Adetiloye emerged with the highest score to become the season 3 winner of AFL90MinutesChallenge. Oluwadamilola Okunlola and Hikmat Oshoala were first and second runners-up.

Ms. Adetiloye, the winner went home with an industrial sewing machine and a mannequin. She will enjoy periodic exposure on Afrika Fashion League platforms for the next one year.

Olabisi Adetiloye in her reaction stated that “I never expected this, I never knew that the panel will find me worthy of their marks but here I am, I want to say a big thank you to Afrika Fashion League and all the sponsors.
