We’re looking for a dynamic and versatile Full-Stack Shopify Developer to drive the development and optimization of our eCommerce platform. This role is central to enhancing our Shopify ecosystem, ensuring seamless functionality, performance, and user experience across our online store. 

This role will put you at the core of our eCommerce strategy, working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. You’ll be involved in everything from front-end UI/UX enhancements to back-end logic and management, ensuring our Shopify store runs efficiently and scales effectively.

This is a full-time, in-office role based in Berlin, Germany.

What you will do:

• Develop, test and optimize front-end and back-end code on Shopify Plus themes

• Build and optimize core Shopify + Checkout Extensibility applications

• Integrating third-party services to enhance store’s capabilities

• Collaborate closely with our design, marketing, and operations teams to implement features that improve customer experience and business performance 

• Proactively identify areas for improvement in both code and processes

• Test and debug website regularly to improve performance

• Build and maintain Shopify notification emails 

• Implement & ensure a smooth connection with Marketing Tools, Platform APIs, and Shopify Apps to optimize the shop for overall efficiency and functionality

• Monitor potential Shopify Plus platform improvements and eCommerce trends

What you will bring:

• Excellent written and verbal communication in English

• 5-7 years of Shopify development experience

• Expert in: Vanilla JS, HTML5, CSS3, Shopify Liquid, GraphQL, REST and 

• Familiarity of: jQuery, ES2015/ES6, Javascript Frameworks

• Pixel perfect attention to detail

• Understanding of:

  • Atomic design

  • Component-Driven Development (CDD)

  • Deep understanding of semantic HTML & accessibility best practices

  • Performant, maintainable code - complexity vs DRYness

  • Owning the tech stack at an organizational level

  • Authoring clear, concise technical documentation

  • Developing Technical governance policies + processes

  • Performance & SEO Best Practices (Lighthouse, Schema, Web Vitals)

  • Version control best practices + CI/CD for Shopify / Shopify CLI

  • Unit & integration testing with Jest, Cypress, Playwright.

  • Cross-browser testing (i.e. SauceLabs)

  • Shopify Plus checkout testing for edge cases.

  • Shopify Plus Lighthouse audits (improving LCP, CLS, FID scores)

  • Lazy loading images, preloading critical assets, and reducing render-blocking JS.

  • Google Analytics: GTM and the DataLayer

  • Advanced proficiency in Liquid (Shopify’s templating language)

  • Customizing themes & developing sections for Online Store 2.0.

  • Dynamic content rendering & working with Metafields

  • Custom checkout pages with Shopify Functions & Checkout Extensibility

  • Performance optimization (lazy loading images, minifying assets, optimizing LCP/FCP metrics)

  • Ensuring mobile-first design and cross-browser compatibility
