Project Overview

We are seeking a contract designer to take creative lead on the design of Tsopani’s upcoming collection. This role is for a visionary with proven experience designing for cult-label streetwear brands and technical outdoor apparel — ideally with insight into the Japanese market and its unique intersection of craftsmanship, minimalism, and performance gear.

You will be responsible for the end-to-end creative direction of the collection, from concept to production-ready designs, working closely with our founder and production partners to ensure each piece reflects Tsopani’s identity while delivering on both functional performance and elevated aesthetics.

Responsibilities

Lead the concept and design of a cohesive seasonal collection blending cult-label streetwear with climbing/skiing technical apparel. Develop mood boards, sketches, and detailed tech packs for all pieces. Select materials, trims, and finishes that balance style, durability, and alpine performance. Integrate functional outdoor features into minimal, fashion-forward silhouettes. Collaborate with pattern makers, sample rooms, and suppliers to move designs toward production. Ensure designs align with Tsopani’s understated, enigmatic brand voice and market positioning.  

Qualifications

Proven track record designing for successful streetwear drops or high-profile collection launches. Strong portfolio showing both cult-label streetwear and technical outdoor apparel designs. Deep understanding of technical fabrics, garment construction, and performance-oriented design. Experience with or knowledge of the Japanese market strongly preferred. Ability to take a project from concept to production-ready designs within set timelines. Personal experience or passion for climbing and skiing a plus.  

Contract Terms

Scope: Full seasonal collection design (capsule or extended, to be defined). Duration: Negotiable, project-based (estimated 2–4 months). Compensation: Competitive, based on experience and scope.
